Authorities are investigating a serious incident that took place Thursday at a power facility in Nevada.
According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, a 23-year-old man from Albany, New York, allegedly drove a vehicle into a secured utility site near Boulder City. Officials stated the site is operated by the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power. The man was later found deceased at the scene from what authorities described as a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
During a news conference, Sheriff Kevin McMahill said the incident is being investigated as a potential act targeting critical infrastructure. Fortunately, no other injuries were reported.
Investigators are working to determine the full timeline of events, including the individual’s travel across state lines prior to the crash. Authorities have emphasized that the case remains active and that additional details will be released as they are confirmed.
