Lewis Jay Justice Death, Obituary: It is with heartfelt sorrow that the family of Lewis Jay Justice, 74, of Greenup, Kentucky, announces his peaceful passing at his residence on Sunday, August 24, 2025. Though he is no longer with us, his memory will forever live on through the countless lives he touched with love, devotion, and kindness.
Born on August 22, 1951, Lewis was the beloved son of the late Dewey and Bessie Scott Justice. From a young age, he grew up with the values of humility, determination, and family loyalty that defined his character.
For many years, Lewis worked as a cut machine operator in the coal mines, where his work ethic and commitment to providing for his family stood as a shining example. His colleagues respected him not only for his skill but also for his integrity and the way he carried himself with quiet strength.
When not working, Lewis found peace in the simple joys of life. He loved the outdoors, often spending time coon hunting and fishing, where he felt most connected to nature and the traditions he cherished.
A Devoted Family Man
Above all, Lewis was a man devoted to his family. He shared a life of love and companionship with Patricia Justice, with whom he built many cherished memories. Together, they raised a family that became the center of his world.

He was a proud grandfather to eleven grandchildren—Brad Smith, J.D. (Valerie) Smith, David Smith, Adam Smith, James Lee Smith, Robert Smith, Austin (Angel) McClanahan, Kayleigh Justice, T.J. McClanahan, Bentley Holbrook, and Keelean Justice—and a doting great-grandfather to Kenslee McClanahan, who brought immense joy into his later years.
Though preceded in death by his beloved son Patrick Jay Justice, as well as several brothers and sisters, Lewis’s love for family remained steadfast, and his memory will continue to be a guiding light for generations to come.

Visitation: Thursday, August 28, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Malone Funeral Home in Grayson, KY, and again on Friday, August 29, 2025, from 9:00 AM until the time of service.
Funeral Service: Friday, August 29, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Malone Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Wolford Cemetery.
