BATON ROUGE — With heavy hearts, the community mourns the tragic loss of Marcus Franklin, who was found dead in his car along Woodcrest Drive on the morning of March 11. His passing has left family, friends, and neighbors grappling with grief over the sudden and violent loss of a valued member of the community.
According to the Baton Rouge Police Department, 23-year-old De’morie Jones has been arrested in connection with Franklin’s death. Jones was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on charges of first-degree murder and armed robbery.
Marcus Franklin’s life, though tragically cut short, touched those around him through his relationships, his character, and the presence he brought to his community. Friends and loved ones remember him for his warmth, his energy, and the countless ways he brightened the lives of those who knew him.
