In Loving Memory of Leslie “Les” Brown
With heavy hearts and a deep sense of sorrow, we remember and honor the life of Leslie “Les” Brown, a 44-year-old man whose tragic and mysterious passing has left his family, friends, and community searching for answers and holding tightly to his memory.
Les was last seen in the Perry area of Shiawassee County, Michigan, in July 2026. Weeks later, on July 31, his body was discovered in a wooded area in Iosco County near Oscoda—far from where he was last seen. The circumstances surrounding his death remain unclear, and despite an autopsy, the cause of death has been ruled as undetermined. For his loved ones, this uncertainty has only deepened their grief.
To those who knew him, Les was more than the headlines or unanswered questions. He was a man who found peace and joy in the simple beauty of life—especially in nature. An avid fisherman, he cherished time spent by the water, casting lines and making memories. Those quiet moments reflected his soul: calm, thoughtful, and deeply connected to the world around him.
Les was also a father, and his loss has left an unimaginable void in the hearts of his children. His daughter, Kaitlynn Brown, has bravely spoken out, expressing the pain and disbelief her family continues to endure. The thought that his life may have been taken unjustly weighs heavily on those who loved him most.
“No one deserves that,” Kaitlynn shared, voicing the heartbreak felt by so many. “No one with a beating heart or a brain deserves that to happen to them.”
As investigators continue their work, Les’s family is asking for the public’s help—hoping that someone, somewhere, may hold a piece of information that could bring clarity and justice. Until then, they are left holding onto memories, love, and the hope that truth will one day come to light.
Les will be remembered not for the tragedy of his passing, but for the life he lived—the quiet strength he carried, the love he gave, and the moments he shared with those who knew him best.
May his memory live on in every ripple of water, every peaceful sunrise, and every heart he touched.
