Authorities are investigating a tragic incident that occurred late Thursday night in Philadelphia, where an 11-year-old boy fatally shot his mother’s boyfriend during a domestic dispute inside their home.

Police say the incident involved Jaimeer Jones-Walker, a 30-year-old man from Lansdowne. According to preliminary reports, Jones-Walker had been involved in an argument with his girlfriend inside the second-floor bedroom of her residence late Thursday evening.

Dispute Escalates

Investigators say the disagreement between the couple began as a verbal argument but later intensified. The woman told authorities that at some point during the confrontation, Jones-Walker began physically attacking her.

The altercation reportedly occurred while her 11-year-old son was inside the home.

Child Attempts to Protect His Mother

According to police, the boy intervened when the situation escalated. During the confrontation, he accessed a handgun and fired a single shot toward Jones-Walker.

The shot struck the man, who collapsed inside the bedroom.

Emergency Response

Police officers and emergency medical personnel responded to the scene after receiving a call reporting a shooting at the home.

When first responders arrived, they found Jones-Walker unresponsive inside the second-floor bedroom. Despite emergency efforts, he was pronounced dead by medics at 11:59 p.m.

Investigation Underway

Both the woman and her son remained at the scene following the incident and are cooperating with investigators.

Authorities say detectives are continuing to review evidence and gather statements to better understand the sequence of events that led to the shooting.
